Welcome Brother!

As a man who has completed the New Warrior weekend . . . you are Warrior! And you are welcome as a brother who is formally affiliated with the Greater Washington DC MKP center. In the Greater Washington DC center, warriors are expected to participate in an I-group and to actively support the continued growth of our community. There are many ways to support the center, and payment of your annual Member Dues is a key part of that support.

What benefits do I get from paying Member dues? Truth be told, there are not that many benefits to being an active Member who has paid his dues. If you want to staff a New Warrior Training Adventure weekend, you must have paid your dues. (unless you are within your first year of your NWTA or you are within your first year of affiliation with the Greater Washington center). But the truth is that when you did your weekend, and by participating in I-groups, you got much of what you can get from MKP.

Supporting MKP-GW – is not going to give you personally much of a return, except emotionally. The reason to support MKP-GW is because you want to continue to “change the world one man at a time”. And because you’re willing to give to make that happen.

So this request is not only for MKP-GW. It is also for the work we do. It’s for your brother, your friend, your son, your grandson, the guy your daughter will marry. It’s for the young man down the street who needs male guidance, the elder who wants to find value in his life, the man in your workplace who’s struggling.

So, please pay your dues!

When do I pay my Member Dues? Dues are now payable for all men in November of each year.

Tax Deductible? MKP-Greater Washington DC is a 501 (c)(3) organization, and your Member Dues payment is fully tax deductible.

The 2010 Greater Washington DC Member Dues structure is:
• Members who live within 75 miles of Washington DC shall pay at least 0.3% of income, with a minimum of $25 and maximum of $300. Members who live more than 75 miles from Washington DC shall pay at least 0.1% of income, with a minimum of $25 and maximum of $100.

• Depending on individual circumstances (e.g., unemployment), part (and in exceptional cases all) of this amount may be contributed in the form of services for which MKP-GW would otherwise have to pay, at a rate of $10 per hour unskilled and $20 per hour skilled.
