Welcome Brother! As a man who has completed the New Warrior weekend . . . you are Warrior! And you are welcome as a brother who is formally affiliated with the Greater Washington DC MKP center. In the Greater Washington DC center, warriors are expected to participate in an I-group and to actively support the continued growth of our community. There are many ways to support the center, and payment of your annual Ally Dues is a key part of that support. What are Ally Dues? Ally Dues generate the funds we need to nurture and grow this community. As our community grows in size from each NWTA, so do the costs to conduct business. In 2007, our center’s expenses exceeded income by more than $6,000 even after implementing improvements in financial accounting/oversight and streamlining expenses. Who pays Ally Dues? For men initiated in the Greater Washington DC center, Ally Dues are due beginning on the one year anniversary of the date of your NWTA. For men who completed their NWTA at another center or who relocate to the Washington DC metro area, Ally Dues are due by the end of your first year of affiliation with the Greater Washington center. Brothers affiliated with this center but who live outside the Greater Washington metropolitan area are eligible for reduced Ally Dues. What benefits do I get from paying Ally dues? There are many benefits to being an active Ally, one of the most important is that you must be an Ally in order to staff local weekends (unless you are within their first year of your NWTA or you are within your first year of affiliation with the Greater Washington center). When do I pay my Ally Dues? If you don’t remember the last time you paid your Ally Dues, it may be time. Contact our bookkeeper (see below) directly for information on your dues status and how to make a payment. If paying on your NWTA anniversary date doesn’t work, you can also select a different annual renewal date by notifying the bookkeeper. I’m not sure I can afford to pay my Ally Dues? The Greater Washington center is committed to ensure that a man’s financial situation not stand in the way of his full participation in the community. We offer a variety of payment options including one-time payments or monthly payments of $15 automatically deducted from a bank account. We also offer opportunities for service to the community in lieu of full payment (men must speak with Center Administrator to arrange this) with service valued at the rate of $15 per hour. Tax Deductible? MKP-Greater Washington DC is a 501 (c)(3) organization, and your Ally Dues payment is fully tax deductible. The 2008–09 Greater Washington DC Ally Dues structure is: Annual Ally Dues (for men living within the Greater Washington metro area): $150 Annual Ally Dues (for GW men in an i-group if all i-group men pay at the same time: $125 Annual Out-of-Town Ally (men living outside of the Greater Washington metro area): $50 Additional (optional) contribution to MKP-International: $25 Other additional (optional) contribution to MKP Greater Washington: $__ The following links will guide you to more specific information.
